| - No moving or movable weight. - Covers must have four wheels, each no more than six inches in diameter. CLASSES Stock class - Any stock valve cover unmodified. Basic rules apply. - Non-metallic mass produced and readily available wheels. - Can be steel or aluminum - Must be stock appearing Top eliminator class - Any modifications to the cover are permitted and encouraged as long as it meets the size standards and the judges can determine that a portion of the cover was originally an automotive valve cover - Run what ya Brung. Basic rules apply. - High tech wheels ok - Can be steel, aluminum, cast or carbon fibre - Wings are allowed TRACK SPECIFICATIONS - The course shall consist of a launch incline eight feet long, followed by a level run of twenty feet. - The official "Starting Line" shall be 36” from the rear edge of the incline. - - A mechanized starting gate may be provided. - The launch incline shall be divided into two lanes, each 18 inches wide. - - - The incline shall be two feet high at the rearmost part and level with the course at the front edge. The front edge shall be mitered so as to provide a smooth transition from the incline to the run out area. - The run out section of the course shall consist of two lanes, each three feet wide. The lanes shall be clearly marked. - The finish line shall be marked twenty feet from the front edge of the launch incline. RACES - There will be a tech prior to the race - All covers must be teched - Once cover has been teched if it leaves the area it must be teched again. - The top four covers at the end of the race are subject to be rechecked as to meeting specifications. Covers not meeting specifications will be disqualified. - Cars will be run in heats of two cars each. - Owner is responsible for staging the cover - The cars are to be launched with the front edge of the cover on the starting line. The first cover to have its front edge cross the finish line is the winner. - If neither car makes it to the finish line, the car going the furthest in its lane wins. - In case of a tie a re-run will determine the winner Schedule - Friday - Test and Tune - Sat – Test and Tune, eliminations - Races will be done "double elimination" style. Winner of round will advance to the next round, losing cover movers to the losing bracket. |
